Comms Leaders’ GDPR, Privacy and Cookies Policy
What is GDPR?
In May 2018 new laws will be introduced about how personal data is managed. As a recruiter, we take the privacy of your data very seriously and have been working hard to ensure that we comply with all the new data protection rules.
There are several changes that we are making, but firstly we are giving you control over what information you receive from us.
As well as finding jobs or candidates for the people we work with, we also provide several opportunities throughout the year for networking, information sharing, and relevant debate. Building a communications community is a huge part of what we do and being a part of that is very beneficial for all: whether you are looking for a role; looking to fill a role; or just want to keep up to speed with industry news and trends.
But we can no longer assume that you want to be invited to these events. We will ask all our clients and candidates whether they are happy to receive invitations to and marketing for such events by ‘opting in’. We will have the same opt in rule for all new candidates and clients.
What are our responsibilities with your data?
We are responsible for keeping your data secure and accurate, and for only using it for the purposes that it was acquired. This means that we will contact you every two years to make sure the information we have about you is correct, and we will only send you marketing information if you have ‘opted in’ to receive it.
We will never share your information with any third parties. We will only share it with suppliers if we have your permission to do so for a specific role.
What are we doing to keep your information secure?
We will only store your personal information on our database which is on a secure platform (Bullhorn). We do not work from separate lists outside of the database.
Our emails are all hosted via a securing hosting company, FastHosts.
What are your rights?
You have the right to request from us access to your own personal information.
Additionally, you have the right to request the following from us:
* that any inaccurate information we hold about you is corrected
* that information about you is deleted in certain situations
* that we stop using your personal information for certain purposes
* that your member profile is provided to you in a portable format
* that decisions about you are not made by wholly automated means.

Who will we share personal information with?
We will only share personal information with clients for a specific role. We only do this with your permission (usually written permission where possible).
What information do we hold?
We only hold the information that you send us or tell us about. We do not gain any further information about you from third parties. This information tends to include:
* Current and expected salary
* CV, cover letters, skills summaries
* Interview notes.

All Comms Leaders partners have been trained in basic GDPR requirements and are aware of the responsibilities that we have as a company.

Third Party Cookies

Some emails we send we track, at an individual level, whether the user has opened and clicked on the email. We do not use this information at a personal level, rather we use it to understand open and click rates on our emails to try and improve them.
